Music
At Manor Leas Junior Academy, we aim to inspire all pupils to realise their individual musical potential, develop self-confidence, develop their creativity and contribute to our school community through Music.
This year, we have introduced the Charanga Music scheme. This is a practical, exploratory and child-led approach to musical learning and built around the Interrelated Dimensions of Music: pulse, rhythm, pitch, tempo, dynamics, timbre, texture, structure and notation.
These dimensions are at the heart of all musical learning and part of the learning spiral to develop and embed a deeper understanding of musical skills, vocabulary and concepts. We are using the adapted COVID version of the scheme during this year's three Music blocks.
